Prostějov, 15 September 2009 --- MICOS, spol. s r.o. – TELCOM Division, a leading Czech manufacturer of passive elements for optical and copper telecommunication and information networks, data cabinets, EMC products and special-purpose equipment under the UNIVERSAL COLONNADE trade name, has begun offering optical switches made by FiberZone Networks Inc.

The Telecommunications Magazine 6/2008 describes in one of its articles a possibility of increasing the availability of xDSL equipment. A part of this article is following. „MICOS will supply in Europe a product of Phylogy company which solves and improves availability of xDSL devices. The device is physically located approximatelly in the half of the distance between exchange part (DSLAM) and terminal equipment at a customer. Thanks to a new and revolutionery technical solution the device is able to analyze characteristics and state of the line and its circuitry make the necessary corrections so the result is improved signal to noise ratio (SNR) in the line and thus the possibility to extend the usable lenght of the line or at the same lenght to increase a bit rate. This brings benefits both, the telcom operators and the users of their services as well.“
